A river runs through it...
This nationally acclaimed lodge, nestled on 13 acres in a sweeping wildflower-filled valley overlooking Rocky Mountain National Park, has become a premier destination for weddings, retreats and conferences. The property’s stunning setting and diverse facilities -- including stables offering trail rides in summer and sleigh rides in winter, a trout-filled river for fly-fishing, easy access to trails for mountain biking, hiking, snow-shoeing and cross-country skiing, and a variety of spa services -- attract a steady tide of guests year-round.
The charmingly Western main lodge includes five rooms with bath, a suite with bath and sitting room, and a lower-level bridal changing room. The inviting lobby, with its dramatic staircase, high-pitched ceiling, warm moss-rock fireplace, sandstone floors and handmade leather- and cowhide furniture, offers an intimate setting for mountain-style weddings or cocktail receptions. The adjacent bar features rough-hewn pine beams, sandstone floors and custom built wood furniture. A covered porch with wooden chairs and tables wraps around the front of the lodge, providing an outdoor area for guests to mingle. The Copeland room, a huge restaurant and reception area with seating for 160+, is on the main level. Elegant and spacious, with chandeliers and ceiling fans, it is an ideal environment for a formal banquet. A huge covered porch, overlooking the cascading River and snowy mountain peaks, wraps around the south and west sides of the lodge. The St. Vrain Room, found on the lower level, can accommodate up to 200+ guests. A popular venue for wedding receptions, it features a backlit stained-glass head table backdrop, an antique hand-carved mahogany bar imported from Dublin, Ireland, a moveable dance floor and a covered deck with spectacular views.
An outdoor amphitheater built of rough-hewn timber into a sloping bank filled with wildflowers, aspens and ponderosa pines offers an ideal place for couples to exchange their vows. The wheel-chair accessible wooden platform overlooks the river. An old-fashioned footbridge leads across the river to a pair of alpine meadows which border a conservation easement filled with quaking aspen groves. Copeland and Meeker Peaks and the Sawtooth range unfold along the horizon, creating a breathtakingly romantic backdrop for a wedding.
The lodge, which was rebuilt in the 1980s adjacent to the site of the historic turn-of-the-century Copeland Lake Lodge, is equipped with utilities, including well and septic, sufficient for a 60-room facility. The huge industrial kitchen on the main level boasts new Imperial ranges and grills, fryers, steam tables, convection ovens, pantries, three kinds of china, a walk-in refrigerator and a portable electric oven – which allow it to churn out 1000 meals a day. An additional satellite kitchen, found on the lower level, helps keep traffic flowing smoothly during peak hours of operation. The satellite kitchen designed to cater events in the St. Vrain Room and outdoors, includes an oven, commercial refrigerators, a walk-in freezer, linen closets and a huge server bus station.
The state of the art business office, located on the top level, comes equipped with high-speed internet access, wireless, copiers, printers, fax machines and the ALOHA Point-of-Sale hospitality software system. With its stellar reputation, up-to-date facilities and unparalled scenery, this lodge is a gold mine on the banks of the St. Vrain River. The future is open to success with this profitable, established opportunity in the rapidly growing event industry!
