D'Urville Island (Rangitoto Ki Ti Tonga) lies between Tasman Bay and Cook Strait taking the prevailing winds against her long western bluffs and hills. Lush in native wildlife and surrounded by the rich clean waters of Raukawa (Cook Strait) D'Urville is the 5th largest island in Aotearoa. Sheltering within a 20,000 acre native reserve on the eastern side of D'Urville is the developing native wildlife sanctuary of Whareatea. Whareatea was the favourite anchorage of Captain Cook on his voyages to Aotearoa due to the shelter it provides.
The sections for sale range in size from approximately 5,000 to 8,000 square metres. All but one are on the waterfront of Whareatea Bay. For more details about individual sections and the location of D'Urville Island please visit the whareatea website link at the bottom of this page.
