The house was built and designed by pioneer and experts in the islands for "hurricane strong" homes. This house is constructed of steel frames with cement and tile roof. Large shatter guard windows provides wonderful natural light and views. This same technology/style home survived hurricane Andrew in Florida back in the 90's. This house survived hurricane Ivan back 2004 without a blemish. No water or wind damage at all! The house sits on a hill, this is very nice as it improves the view and improves the safety from sea surge. This is NOT your typical beachfront home!
The house has a garage (seprate from the house) with a workshop and an outside shower installed, that is used for rinsing after a swim in the caribbean sea. It comes with it's own water system (7,000 gallon cistern).
The house sits on approx. 2 acres of land, with mature fruit trees, including seagrapes, coconut, date palm and others. Relax in the hammock found in the back yard. Nearest neighbour is about 1,000 feet away (in each direction, except north. the beach) and the home is surrounded by magnificiant thick seagrape trees. This is a very private property. The house always has a nice breeze blowing in, very rearly use the central air cooling, which means low electricty bills.
Owners are friends of ours who are not able to come to the islands as much as they would like due to their age. They are motivated to sell. Lots of potential for investing as the house was used periodically for a vacationing home and it is big business here on Cayman Brac.
