The hotel is on the beach, has 7 bungalows, five hotel rooms, a complete bar/restaurant, 4 swimming pools and an owners home. We have a maximum capacity of 57 guests, and usually run at 40+% occupancy (100% weekends, 30% weekdays). The business is primarily with Guatemalan and ex-pat families who week-end from Guatemala City, a two hour drive away, so we are insulated from the usual ups and downs of the tourism industry.
The Restaurant serves from 50 to 150 meals on an average weekend day and is the most popular on the beach. The hotel has been continually upgraded over the past two years, and is in good operating contition. For those interested in a stable, guaranteed income with excellent growth potential, Johnny's is perfect. We are just in the process of adding a high-speed satellite driven internet cafe to the hotel, which should add around $1000 p/month to the net of the hotel. We will be the only internet facility within one hour of Monterrico.
