HISTORY
San Giusto is an historical building whose first written news date back to the first half of XIth Century.
The propriety passed from Counts Ricuccini to the historical Hospital Santa Maria della Scala of Siena and in XIV Century became one of its eleven "grance" (fortress-farms).
Through the centuries it became an agricoltural village.
Up to around 50 years ago San Giusto was inhabited by around 250 people, had a small church and a school, that was attended by all children of the surroundings. I met some of them, still alive and remembering their life in San Giusto.
During world war II, San Giusto saw both German and then American soldiers and there are many stories about this period.
In the Sixties people moved to cities and bigger centres and San Giusto, as well as other farms, was almost abandoned.

THE VILLAGE OF SAN GIUSTO AND ITS INHABITANTS
In San Giusto, at the moment, there are four inhabitants. Me and my husband and a couple from Switzerland living 100 mts far, in the former church-house.

WHY IT IS A BARGAIN
Compared to the mad prices of the Siena territory this apartment has the beauty of a charming "Suite" and, at the same time, is a real bargain to rent. this is only because of the 5 km dirty street bringing to the hamlet, and because of the rest of the village, which is not completely restored.
For this only two reasons such a beautiful place is really not expensive to rent.
