Dive "ET", Ha'atafu drop-off, Telemachus Reef, King's Reef, Hakaumama'o' and the Boiler, a wreck just off the island that can take you back to 1915 steam powered vessels era.

The village of 'Atata is renowned for its fishing prowess. The inhabitants have been fishing for Yellowfin and Skipjack tuna, Wahoo, Mahi-mahi and Marlin from open boats for over 100 years. Similarly, sport fishermen and women have the opportunity of fishing the well known Duffs Reef, and surrounding fishing grounds.
Royal Sunset Sport Fishing caters for experienced, serious anglers, and for those who would like to try, learn, and have fun, on the virtually untouched waters of Tongatapu.

From July to October humpback whales migrates from cold south to warmerTonga's water. During this period they don't feed, they come here to calf and mate. The singing males can be clearly heard from underwater and whales encountered on their migration path here at Atatà.

The peculiar shape of the island make this place unique.
The long tiny land extending from the main island body, hosting a fishing village, is the location of the resort. This sharing of Atatà gives Royal Sunset a cultural aspect rarely found in other tourist destinations.
The friendly villagers let guests enjoy local entertainment, kava parties , and many aspects of the relaxed fakatonga, the Tongan way.
In the village visitors can find two churches,
a school, and a plantation.

A 40' motor catamaran or a 20' speedboat transfer guests to the resort. Also includes a 24' fishing boat powered by 2 brand new Yamaha 100 4 stroke engines, a brand new Arvor20 fishing boat and 3 long boats.

The resort opened in 1986 and more fales were added in 1988. The main complex was rebuilt in 1991. Renewal made in 2004 and 2005.
