It is located in one of the premium wine-producing areas of Spain, in a small village only a few hours drive from Barcelona, and an hour from the beach.
The external stone walls are 40cm thick, and new walls were built inside with insulation in between. The stone is exposed at the entrance, dining room, wine tasting room and wine cellar. Throughout, all of the original and magnificent wooden beams have been preserved.
The whole house has wooden floors of Galician pine, except the bathrooms which are Iroko. All of the windows are custom built of solid Iroko frames and double glass. All of the external doors are solid Iroko
There are 3 luxurious double bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms. Each bathroom has double sinks, large shower, warm towel rack, and furniture is solid Iroko. Bedrooms each have 2 large single Latoflex beds and antique furniture.
The entrance with stone floor opens onto a bar with fridge and wine cooler, the open kitchen/dining area half a level up, the stairs leading down to the wine tasting room, and a large glass window that looks into the wine cellar.
The large kitchen is custom built for teaching cooking to up to six people. There is a professional 5 burner stove with oven, extractor, double sinks, dishwasher, glasswasher, double door fridge/freezer with water and ice dispensers. The dining table seats 8 to 10 people comfortably. There is a cast iron fireplace in this area and a seperate toilet.
The wine tasting room seats 8 people comfortably, and the adjoining wine cellar is temperature controlled and beautifully decorated with old barrels.
It has a capacity for 700 bottles.
On the first floor is located one of the bedrooms and the living room. This has comfortable seating for 6, a nice terrace with views of the mountains, high-speed internet, and a cast iron fireplace.
The top floor has the remaining 2 bedrooms.
Leading out from the kitchen behind the house is the patio/garden. This has individual 2-person marble tables, for seating 8 people, a barbecue, outdoor sink, almond, bay-leaf, olive, and nispero trees and wonderful shade provided by 2 Mulberry trees. There is also a vegetable garden. From here stairs lead down to the laundry area with both washer and dryer.
Below the garden is a 2000liter buffer water tank. Double computer-controlled pumps for pressure water. A large decalcifying unit, Large industrial hot water unit, hot water circulating pump for instant hot water on top floors, reverse-osmosis water purifier for drinking water tap at Kitchen sink and refrigerator water dispenser. There is a small building at the end of the property for storing the 4 industrial butane gas tanks for hot water and kitchen stove. Each room has indiviadually controlled A/C units for cooling and heating. All ten French-window/balconies and staircase banisters are of custom made forged iron.
