The building plot "Vistas Largas" (Farview) is in a solitary and magnificent position in the south of the island, close to its largest beach, Praia Formosa. In total privacy, it offers very beautiful sea views to the south and the west, one can watch the sunset throughout the year. In the other direction there is an open view to the island's wooded mountains.

The size of the plot is 34,000 square yards (28,500 mÂ²). We have a previous approval for building there one dwelling house with a covered area up to 300 square yards (250 mÂ²) plus adjoining buildings like a garage.

The house can be built on the highest point of the plot with the best sea view. We marked it with blue colour on the official cadastral survey map (picture 22). Below there are nice terraces for gardening.

The photos 02 to 09 show the views from the western part (left half) of the place to build, the photos 01 and 14 to 20 from the eastern place (right half). On photo 10 one sees a part of the western place, on the photos 11 and 12 parts of the eastern place of the area to build a house. Photo 13 shows parts of the terraces. Picture 21 is the official cadastral survey map, the plot is marked with a red pencil.

To build the house, there are several qualified construction companies on Santa Maria. One calculates 500 to 600 US Dollars for one square yard of covered area (corresponding to 500 to 600 Euro for one square metre).

The distance to the beach of Praia Formosa is on the road 1.5 miles (2.4 km; there are shortcuts for walking), to the next grocery shop it is 1.8 miles (2.9 km), to the island's main village Vila do Porto with supermarkets and shops of all kinds 5.6 miles (9 km), and to the airport 6.8 miles (11 km).

The price is 110,000 US Dollars (approx. 89,000 Euro), the estimated developing costs (water, power supply, and access into the property) are approx. 24,000 US Dollars (20,000 Euro).
