It is within easy reach of most parts of the world, especially North America and Europe.

The coastal area some 40 km (25 miles) north of Salvador airport is the ideal spot for a beach-front holiday home. It is within easy reach of most parts of the world, especially North America and Europe. The large city of Salvador is nearby and provides all the facilities that might be required. Most importantly, there are gated communities (closed condominiums) that provide the necessary security for weekend and holiday homes. These communities are sandwiched between a lake and the sea, and can be entered through only one or two entrances that are guarded at all times. In addition, there are security patrols in the condominiums 24 hours per day. Consequently, there is no crime there. Houses can safely be left empty for long periods of time, with no need for caretakers, high walls, or alarm systems. Items can be left outside the house and do not disappear.

A wide variety of homes, both new and previously occupied, are for sale in these communities. In addition, there are still empty plots on which homes can be constructed to order. Some of these homes and plots directly face the sea, whereas others are one or two blocks inland. All have easy access to the excellent beach.

This area is truly tropical, with temperatures that vary little throughout the year. Official climate statistics for Salvador give the average maximum temperature being lowest in June to August at 26 degrees C (79 degrees F) and the highest in February and March at 30 degrees C (86 degrees F). The corresponding average minimum temperatures are 21 degrees C (70 degrees F) and 24 degrees C (75 degrees F). There are no cold spells, nor any very hot periods, and there is usually a cooling breeze off the ocean from the northeast. The temperature is remarkably constant. Also, the area does not suffer from any natural hazards, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, droughts, etc.

Property prices are very reasonable, and there are few other areas of the world area with modern infrastructure and facilities where one can buy beach properties at such prices.
